Pharrell Williams' hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia is showing its love to the Grammy-winning producer.

According to The Virginian-Pilot, Pharrell returned to his old stomping grounds Saturday to receive the key to the city from Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms.

On Twitter, "Skateboard P" thanked Mayor Sessoms and said that he's "unbelievably honored."

Before he was presented with the key to the city, he went to his alma mater, Princess Anne High School.  Pharrell promoted the partnership between his educational foundation, From One Hand to Another, and technology company EverFi.  Together they have launched a Summer of Innovation Camp to benefit underprivileged children in Virginia Beach.
